Los Angeles is known as the place where dreams come true. It brings people from all over the world who come to admire the beautiful sandy beaches, to hunt for celebrities and to shop ‘til they drop on Rodeo Drive. LA is home to some of the most famous cities, including Hollywood and Beverly Hills; Hollywood has been the prime spot for the Silver Screen since the early 20th century with major motion-picture companies taking root as early as 1912. Today, Hollywood has become the centre of the film industry and Beverly Hills is home to some of the richest people on the planet, however, one of the most popular places to go in LA is Sunset Boulevard.

Sunset Boulevard is one of the most the most famous spots in Los Angeles. At 22 miles long, it begins in Downtown LA and finishes at the Pacific Coast Highway, snaking through Bel Air, Beverly Hills, Brentwood and UCLA. If you are looking to explore every inch of the Boulevard, it’s best that you hire a car, so you use your time to explore rather than travelling. The first place to start with is the Sunset Strip, a 1.7 mile section that would easily swallow a whole day of your trip with its vast amount of shops, bars and iconic sites such as The Comedy Store and The Viper Room. The Viper Room can be found a mere 8 minutes from Hotel 850 SVB California and it was once owned by Johnny Depp. It was the haunt for many celebrities at the time, however, it is more known for being the place where talented young actor River Phoenix died of a drug overdose. The Sunset Strip has a fascinating past that mixes gangsters with rock stars and, because it wasn’t under any police jurisdiction, it was known for its debauchery and loose morals. Today the Strip has cleaned up its act and is a firm favourite with visitors and locals alike.
If you want to do some celebrity spotting, there are several places to go amongst the Hotels on Sunset Blvd Los Angeles. Sunset Junction can be found on the east side of the Boulevard and has been dubbed the site for trendy hipster celebrities. Chloe Sevigny and Landon Pigg are known to grace its coffee shops and vintage boutiques frequently. If you feel the need for a work out while in LA, head to Crunch at 8000 W. Sunset Boulevard where you can get in the boxing ring, work out to the DJ’s music or simply have a drink at the juice bar, you would be in good company with Jeff Goldblum, Eva Longoria Parker and Russell Brand all in attendance.
At the end of Sunset Boulevard is Sunset Point Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in the state. Not only is it a great place to sunbathe, but it is also a popular place for beginner surfers. After a day of lounging, Gladstone’s restaurant offers some of the most delicious seafood in the area so you can dine and watch the sunset over the Pacific Ocean.
